Id be disappointed if my company didn’t allow me to register and plan ahead. Adding TIA and exam fee comes close to $2000. If a company can’t handle that(+/- 675 if you fail what you just took) a couple times a year then that is a bad sign.

Which manual or study aid did you guys use? Is this going to have a syllabus change for spring 2021?

          Thanks

When can we expect to get our results?
            Anyone have any ideas?

I assume if you use the calculator you’d also have to take steps to show your work on Excel which further adds times

Yeah I took that yesterday and it felt on the easier side.

How do you go about deducting points against yourself?

How is everyone doing on the past exams?
Did you guys attempt or going to attempt all?

How much labeling do we have to show?
Like when we create triangles, is it necessary to write the AY’s and ages if it’s self explanatory?
Would we lose points if we don’t?

My exam is in Dec. 7th and my state isn’t doing well either with covid so I wouldn’t be surprised the slightest bit if mine also gets pushed back.
Cancelling and just enjoying Thanksgiving sounds so good to be honest.

Very tough time we are living in. Covid sucks!

This seems pretty crazy, and I feel your pain. It’s not fun being forced to travel or just cancel after studying for months.
However, this is an unprecedented time and can’t blame CAS. I feel this is where we all lose, and there is no winner.

So, is it MN so far or are testing centers in other states also shutting down?

Spring 2015 destroyed me today. Feeling discouraged.
I guess it’s also a bad idea to take a 4 hr exam at 830pm after work….Feeling crappy at 2am in the morning and have to get up in a few hours to work.
This Thanksgiving is going to suck.

Unfortunately, exams have to introduce “twists” so that not too many candidates pass. Let’s face it, Exam 5 material isn’t technically difficult and the pass rates would be insanely high (like 80%) if they didn’t have these twists and didn’t pressure candidates with time.

I do agree in that I find it annoying CAS has to resort to other ways to ensure enough people fail in each sitting. What I’m upset about is particularly for 2019 fall sitting. That was my second attempt (never failed an exam twice), and they failed more people than they’ve ever did in a sitting historically. Both times, I got a 5 but I felt pretty confident in passing in that fall 2019 sitting but still just got a 5. I wonder, had they kept the pass rate at 40% if my 5 would have been a 6.

Yeah I was going to ask what is allowed to be said about the exam. I’m curious what people thought of the spreadsheet. I wonder what’s different compared to the regular MS Excel. Could I used shift, ctrl buttons to move around the cell, etc.

Also, how much work needs to be explicitly shown given graders can see the formulas.

So far took two past exams and I think I’m doing well enough to feel somewhat confident.
Am I correct to recall CAS passed less people from the last exam 5 sitting than usual?
I think 10% point less than usual.
