I passed.  Wooohoo. Just checked my profile and saw my exam 6c result. Wow that was such a big relief!

What exactly they have done, I don’t know and probably will not know if I pass (because they wouldn’t release the score breakdown). If I fail, then I’d know what score I got on the question parts I wasn’t able to attempt because of the keyboard not working (the answers to which I knew by the way and submitted those in the grievance form right after the exam)

It’s too much stress to be honest to think about what’s going to happen come Monday. This is exam 6c I’m talking about. Hopefully I’ll hear some good news. I know it’s been really difficult for people to wait for the exam results. But just imagine what I must be going through since the day I wrote the exam. If I fail by fine margins because of those last 20-30mins I wasn’t able to type what I wanted to then I just don’t know what I’ll do with my life. I gave away the first 2.5 months of my new born in exchange for studying. I lost a job due to pandemic. Had to move countries. So after all that, if I fail because of something beyond my control and CAS takes it lightly but most importantly does nothing about it, then I don’t know what to do. What would you do if you were in my position?  Yeah 2020 was a challenging year for me just like it was for a lot of us. I’m just praying that I pass and my pass or fail doesn’t come down to this. Either I pass or fail miserably. I guess I’ll find out on Monday! Pray for me will ya?

“We understand your frustration with what you experienced. We know that the issues you encountered must have been very stressful, and we regret that you had to deal with that on top of the general anxieties that candidates must manage on exam day. We have high expectations of Pearson VUE to provide our candidates with a consistent and positive exam experience, and we are working with them to avoid these issues in the future.
We believe that all CAS candidates should have an equitable opportunity to pass their exam. Exam committee leaders have been made aware of your experience, and in fairness to you, will take those issues into consideration.”

I spoke with a member of CAS. I had technological issues during my exam and got a response from CAS regarding the grievance form I submitted. And when asked about expected results date, I was told that.

Just got some news from CAS. They are in the last part of the grading process. Results can be expected either next week or the week after.

I’m guessing either: end of next week or early following week.

Instead of the students trying to figure out what is going on, CAS should take up the responsibility and come up with a clear announcement highlighting what’s going on behind the scenes. I seriously doubt that would happen, but that is the right approach. One thing that I would like to add in here is that CAS should really allow EXAM 7 and 9 to take place in Fall 2021 as well. It kind of puts a lot of students at risk of not being able to have enough study time for these exams in Spring sitting and if they fail because of lack of studying time, then they have to wait for another year to write those exams.

About time that someone from CAS gives us some sort of timeframe.

For Exam 6c, there aren’t study manuals that you can rely on as such except for BA. I think they do a pretty great job in highlighting what you need to know. I would suggest that you still read the source paper at least once to add to your notes. But otherwise, BA should be more than enough.

Use battleacts to help you prepare for the exam. Their content is really good. Also, they tell you what to focus on.

Is exam 9 relatively easier than 7? Any thoughts which one should I write in may 2021?

Oh wow..I didn’t think of that but THAT to me seems like a very doable thing. CAS should definitely consider this for future exams at least.

I completely agree: not being able to copy/paste or press F2/F4 or pressing the back button erases in the opposite direction, are all technical issues that just wastes time and nothing else. It can very easily throw you off your A-game during the exam. These are things that CAS needs to account for. But how is this fair that I can’t type properly (no spacebar working, no enter key working, some letters and some numbers not working)? How is this fair, that someone else had a technical issue but was given the lost time back by PEARSONVUE?

Anyways, only time can tell. Let’s hope for the best for everyone. It has been a difficult year for everyone, more so for some people.

Also, I just found out through a friend of mine that his colleague also had some technical difficulty but the test centre was able to give him the time back. How is that even possible? If so, why wasn’t my test centre able to do that? That’s clearly unfair. Makes me Mad!

Even I didn’t knew about the grievance form until I came across it while trying to find out a way to contact CAS about this situation. I guess I’m desperate to make sure CAS sorts this out for me so I’m trying harder.

                                    From above:

”The most common remedy for severe instances is exam rescheduling without fee during the next available exam window.”

My situation happened only with 20min left or so. I don’t want to be rewriting the exam next sitting because of this technological failure from CAS’s end. Syllabus is being updated for this exam for 2021 Spring sitting. It would be very unfair to me if they decided to go that route. Again, I really hope these last 20mins have no bearing on my exam result. Fingers crossed!
