Do we think the preliminary results posted were correct, if it’s a PDF with your name and grade in it?  Asking for a friend.

I wish I didn’t know it was going to be tomorrow.  I feel like can’t possibly be productive now.

Update on Release of Fall 5, 6U, 8 2020 Exam Results
                Dear Candidates,

The CAS will release results for the Fall 2020 Exams 5, 6-US, and 8 on Thursday, January 28. Results will be released between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Candidates will be notified via email when their results are available. Candidates will access their exam grade for the Fall 2020 sitting in the “My Exams” section of their online CAS profile. As we get closer to the release date, if there is any change in the expected timing of the release, we will issue an updated announcement. For candidates that did not pass, a more comprehensive grade report will be available in mid-February.

                Thank you,

Yeah, it sucks not knowing what exam to study for.

Put together a petition and people will either sign or not sign it.  See what happens.

When exam 5 was TBE years ago, the first test was 5/4, make up exam was 5/31, and results were 7/2.  Two exams per person were graded in less than 5 weeks.

This sitting ended for 95% of people by 12/8?  So we’re at 7.5 weeks now and 3 for the 12/31sters.

Results for 2020 exams in first quarter, so candidates will have all of April to study for their exams!

I personally don’t know any actuaries willing to risk their career to help a friend pass an exam. Everyone I know is taking the NDAs very seriously, and is too competitive to even want to help out peers.

But in the future there will be a question bank, so this will not be the case forever. There was no way to have everyone take the test the same day during the pandemic. But the CAS could have combined the spring and fall 2020 exams to make a small question bank for this sitting and didn’t.

I thought no two people were taking the same test? That we were now dealing with question banks?

For exam 5 in 2018 we had online proctors. It’s the same thing. If you cheat in the bathroom, then I guess you do. But you can do that at Pearson too. You just promise not to. You’re allowed to access all your personal belongings and the bathrooms are typically down the hall from the center itself.

Chicago and Los Angeles are on lock down. I think that’s a pretty good reason to have online exams. Especially since they promised that in April.

I’m December 1st and my state is doing very poorly, and I’m high risk. I go back and forth every hour on if I should cancel or not.
