You know that getting a 9 and 10 is basically impossible.
If the exam pass mark is 72% then a 9 would be 72% × 1.1^3 = above 95% (score on the test).
From what I hear there is usually very few 8s. If a person got an 8 they would have dominated the test.
No. I don’t think that is a good idea.
That’s not true the majority of tests are between 5 and 6. I have heard it’s usually 60% percent of tests are between those two scores.
I honestly think they don’t have a date yet. Which leads me to believe early February might become mid-February.
It’s spin. In their eyes the test period ending December 31st and there is a new environment and more tests that were offered.
The new environment taking them more time is a bit curious. But, maybe they are looking for ways to give credit and/or standardize how to take off points for bad labeling or reference errors.
Thanks for the update.
I don’t know I just read it as a “Red Roast Beef from a tigger”
No one really knows how the keystone project requirement will affect travel time.
That’s what I would guess.
Right I imagine the grades for exam 9 will be clustered around a point or two. And that’s why my earlier question of will the CAS be inclined to make the pass mark above or below the cluster is important.
If everyone did virtually the same and messed up the same few questions/didn’t know how to do a couple of questions. Then it all comes down to the clustering and how you did on the IQ.
I really think the IQ is a terrible way to differentiate candidates.
Exam 7 was apparently fair and straightforward. Exam 9 most people on goactuary.com do not feel that great about it. Most people left a few blank and or didn’t know how to do 4 or 5 qs. One or two people are confident, but also acknowledge they didn’t know a few questions. Pretty sure everyone is in a similar boat for exam 9. Personally, I know like six people who took exam 9. No one felt good afterwards.
If we don’t hear by Thursday. Probably going to be first week of February.
I used my commute time in the past to study for around 2-3 hours a day.
Although it’s nice not to have to commute, I am watching my kids a lot more and that time is basically lost. It depends on the situation. I imagine single people had more time because they were working from home.
Also, I imagine there are some people who just study better in an office setting.
To me the bigger question is if the CAS will make that assumption. One of the reasons I think the CAS won’t release the passing percentage is because if people see they passed 40% or less for exam 9, instead of 50% then people will be angry. The CAS always falls back on well people aren’t prepared.
If they go into the mindsight well everyone should be more prepared then I can see them likely not to pass as many people.
It is possible they go into the opposite perspective that our test was hard and that people haven’t taken it in a year in and half so they should pass more people (although they can say they are offering 9 again in a few months).
Also I was pointing out that both the CAS environment was different than Excel and the CAS.was aware of it, yet didn’t tell people the differences. And that anyone could have used it while studying any problem. I know multiple people who did their problems in the environment for practice.
It’s 50/50 for me. I wouldn’t be surprised with a 6 or a 5. My main point above is you can have a lot of time left but not use it effectively because the questions you have left you can’t answer well.
