I used TIA + the Rising Fellow Cookbook for 8 and would very highly recommend both.
Josh (TIA instructor for 8) is a great instructor. Very responsive and has a very good teaching style with good examples.
Officially not this week for 7 and 9. Hopefully next week.
Legit, thanks for sharing! Also – sorry you had to deal with technological issues, hope it ends up not mattering for you
Read page 31 here: https://www.casact.org/admissions/syllabus/2021Syllabus.pdf
“The last step of the grading process” does not mean they are still grading. It likely means a teleconference with the VP-admissions and a representative from the CIA to discuss all of the exams from the series and to finalize the passing scores.
Guessing we’re awaiting their availability.
Dante – how exactly did you receive this news?
Was this more of a definitive “update” or a simple restating of the 1/7 press release from the person you spoke with?
Actually I change my mind…
If you click on the “Print” grade report there’s a section for Grade and a section for Numeric Score, so it would seem logical that the “Grade” section on the landing page would only say Pass/Fail.
Pretty sure the numerical score was on the landing page and not Pass/Fail but I could be wrong on that. Hard to remember almost a year from now lol
What is everyone taking away from the Kreps spreadsheet?
Given the pattern of recent exam sittings having a question on the supplemental materials, it feels like there will surely be a question on this.
What a time for actuarial outpost to experience issues. Could really use some collaboration in a sitting like this 🙁
My sitting is 12/7…really worried about a statewide lockdown. Fingers crossed!
